According to the statistics of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, 1,204 pachinko parlors which are managed by major pachinko operators gained 216.8 billion yen in October 2020.
Converting that into the per unit, the average revenue per pachinko/pachislot machine per month declined by 16.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year to 331 thousand yen (US$ 3.3 thousand) in October. However, the year-on-year rate improved slightly compared to September.
Recovering business conditions from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis is very slow, and the 80-percent-condition could become 'new normal' for the pachinko industry.
note) In the pachinko industry, revenue means Gross Pay-Ins, the sales amount of pachinko balls and pachislot tokens rented to customers minus unutilized balls and tokens.
