Pachinko market down by 27% YoY in 2020

In 2020, the pachinko and pachislot industry's gross pay-ins was down by 27.0% from the previous year to 14.6 trillion yen(US$ 132 billion), gross gaming revenue was down by 27.5% to 2.4 trillion yen(US$ 21 billion). Broken down by machine type, GGR of pachinko was down by 27.3% YoY, while GGR of pachislot was down by 27.6% YoY, according to Daikoku Denki's white paper.

In the pachinko-pachislot industry, one gaming machine worked an average of 2.7 hours per day in 2020. 20% less than the previous year.　
The average gaming revenue from pachinko was 2008 yen (US$ 18.3) per unit per day. This means gaming revenue per unit per machine-working hour from pachinko was 740 yen (US$ 6.7).
In terms of pachislot, one machine worked an average of 3.69 hours per day. The average gaming revenue from pachislot was 2445 yen (US 22.3) per unit per day. Gaming revenue per unit per machine-working hour from pachislot was 660 yen (US$ 6.0) in 2020.

note) As of the end of December 2020, there were approximately 8400 pachinko parlors. The term ”pachinko parlor” includes stores that specialize in pachislot.

大阪・夢洲IR　RFCにMGM、ギャラクシー、ゲンティンが提案提出

The number of pachinko halls was 9,639 as of the end of December 2019, decreased by 421 halls compared to the same month of the previous year. The number of pachinko/pachislot/others machines decreased by 106,801 year-on-year to 4,195,930 as of the end of December 2019. The number of pachinko machines decreased by 3.0 percent, pachislot machines decreased by 1.6 percent.

6月度 遊技機1台当たり売上 コロナ禍から回復基調　経済産業省統計

経済産業省が毎月実施している「特定サービス産業動態統計調査」をもとに2020年6月度の遊技機1台当たりの月間売上高を算出すると、前年同月より13万3500円（31.0％）低い29万7400円だった。 新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大防止のために発令された緊急事態宣言が解除されたのは5月25日。全国的にはこれ以前に営業再開を始めていたパチンコホールが散見されたが、5月度の営業日数は少なく、1カ月間の売上高は過去に例がない低水準となった。 通常営業となった6月度は、若年層、ヘビーユーザー層を中心に客足が戻り、遊技機1台あたりの月間売上高は前年同月比69.0％に回復した。 同調査は全数調査ではなく、パチンコホール売上上位企業を対象にしたもの。調査対象のパチンコホール経営企業の売上高合計は市場全体の約17％、店舗数合計は1,218店で全国店舗数の約13％。

観光庁　大阪・長崎IRの年内認定は困難との見通し示す

統合型リゾート（IR）区域認定計画の審査をしている観光庁は12月8日、国会内で開かれた立憲民主党の会合で、出席者からの認可の時期についての質問に「現実的に考えると年内というのはなかなか厳しいものがある」と答え、ほぼ可能性がないとの認識を示した。 大阪府・市と長崎県はそれぞれ統合型リゾート（IR）の開設を目指し、2022年4月28日の期限までに区域整備計画の認定申請を提出した。現在、国土交通大臣が設置した外部有識者による「特定複合観光施設区域整備計画審査委員会」が審査をおこなっている。 観光庁はもともと認定の時期を決めていないが、大阪府・市も長崎県も2022年中の認可を想定し、大阪府・市は2029年秋から冬頃、長崎県は2027年秋の開業を目指している。 大阪IRの候補地である人工島・夢洲については、土壌汚染対策や軟弱地盤の改良が必要なことが明らかになったことが審査の長期化に影響していると思われる。 長崎県の区域整備計画最終案は、初期投資額約4383億円のうちの6割にあたる2630億円を国内外の金融機関からの借り入れるとしているものの主幹事金融機関の具体名が記されておらず、提出直前の4月14日に開催された佐世保市議会の特別委員会でも委員からこれを疑問視する意見が出ていた。
